SAFETY

Safety is a primary focus at Summit. We are one of a select few companies that has a representative member on the Toy Industry Association's Safety Standards & Technical Committee. Summit is a leader in the charge to improve toy safety and we have maintained an impeccable record of excellence. We are proud of the fact that we have never had a recall. This track record is one that we work constantly to sustain.

Our success in this area stems from our diligence and commitment to create safe products at all levels of development and also randomly inspect finished product prior to shipping. When developing our products, we utilize independent testing labs to test our concepts before they are mass-produced. The production subcontractors that we use test all raw materials to insure that they comply with our standards. Summit also uses independent labs to randomly test production a monthly basis to insure that our systems are performing as expected and also to insure that we do not allow a faulty product to reach a retail shelf.

Ultimately, it is our responsibility to sell safe products and we take this responsibility very seriously.

HISTORY

Summit Products began operations in 1995, and debuted a concept conceived to help teach children money management skills. This first product was born out of a frustration that children may not appreciate the value of a dollar and eventually spawned other toy concepts, which became the foundation of the company.

After spending 5 years selling direct to the consumer (and failing miserably at it), Summit changed directions and focused all of our efforts on utilizing the retailers to distribute our products. Since those first days, Summit has grown significantly. We have extended beyond educational money products and developed everything from a Bug Vacuum, musical instruments, and even a water powered rocket car! After restarting the business in 2000, Summit has experienced 2285% growth in the last 7 years and has consistently grown by 35% or better in the lasts 6 of 7 years (as of 2006). Summit has gone from being a small company to one that is recognized as a worthy competitor in the toy industry.

Summit has also been the proud recipient of the INC 500 awards in 2003 and the INC 5000 award in 2006 and 2007. Additionally, Summit was named a winner of the Birmingham Business Journal's "Fast Track" award and has been fortunate enough to win this award for six of the 9 years it has been offered, a distinction that only one other company has accomplished. Summit has consistently proven that we will continue to grow as a company through creating safe products that children love to play with.

After the redirection in 2000, we have focused our efforts on creating and marketing innovative products for kids. Through the years, we have developed 12 brands and our design team has created over 400 unique products that span several different categories in the store. Among these brands are Youniverse, Backyard Safari, Boom Blaster, Zillionz, Spray Racer, Barrel Blaster, Nickelodeon, Spider-Man 3, Hidden Gems, Moto Headz, Beverly Hills Puppy Club and Garden Girlz. We sell to approximately 20 different countries and our products are packaged in 22 languages!

Summit plans to continue its growth by sticking with our core competencies; innovation, reputation, speed to market, integrity, superstar team members, execution and quality, and best of all, we "Do What We Say We Will Do"!
