POWER-OF-ONETM
As a
company becomes successful and experiences growth, it becomes increasingly more
important to remember to give back to the community that has supported
you. Early on Summit knew that when
success came they wanted to give back.
Power of One is Summit’s answer to that goal. The
Summit team is committed to enriching the lives of kids through our in-house
charity, Power of OneTM. We believe
that, with success, comes responsibility and we have a responsibility to give
back to the kids that have so graciously embraced our brands.
The Power of OneTM is a program which allows team members of Summit Products the opportunity to give back 1% (2 days per year on Summit’s nickel) of our time and profits to children’s charities in the US and China. Every member of Summit contributes 1 percent of their time (two working days per year) to worthwhile children’s causes. Last year team members helped kids in inner cities, built homes and playgrounds, funded after-school activities, created a website for children’s charities and continue to grant wishes to terminally ill children through Magic Moments. As Summit has discovered it is not the children who are reaping a reward, but Summit, just in and of the experience itself.
Some of the charities that we have been honored to
be involved with include: Magic Moments, Habitat for Humanity, Children’s
Hospital of Birmingham, and the Just Keep Smiling Foundation
Summit has experienced incredible growth, but more importantly, Summit has found that it is rewarding to see what can happen when you build a company not just on a balance sheet, but also from the heart.
